Save Bradley Park!

Bradley Park Golf Course is under threat of closure as the 120 acres site has been identified by Kirklees Council as a potential site for over 2000 new houses. This housing development would see the complete closure of our course and Bradley changed forever.

The first part of the redevelopment process is a consultation period which started on Monday 9th November 2015 and runs until 1st February 2016.

We now need to get the site off the development plan and keep this highly regarded public facility open. The development, if successful, will change Bradley and the surrounding areas forever. Traffic, pollution, education and the environment will all be affected. We urge everyone to sign this petition to help save one of the best municipal courses in the UK and to keep Bradley from being over-developed.

Those downstream of the proposed development will have experienced the misery of the River Calder floods over the Christmas 2015 period. Bradley Park is a natural flood barrier, acting as a sponge for vast quantities of rainfall. Where will all the water run if 2000 units (including foundations) and the supporting infrastructure is built?

This petition will be presented to Kirklees Council to support all comments on the Local Plan Consultation site - please see http://bradleyparkgc.co.uk/ for more information on how to add your views.
