Cease & Desist - Winnipauk Village Tree Removal

Thank you fellow Winnipauk neighbors for coming to support this petition. I have lived in the community for approximately 4+ years, and have attended the board meetings pertaining to the main pool and clubhouse renovations. I was in support of the proposed work based on what was needed to accomplish a larger deck area and to improve the overall appearance of our main pool/clubhouse. 

It has come to my attention that this scope has changed. I only know this from coming home to orange tagged trees, which prompted me to call Westford Management. Which they cannot provide me with any details as to what the plan is or timing. They have tagged 5 additional trees to be removed without any notification to the community. I understood the need to remove the trees located on the perimeter of the pool, as it prohibited the expansion and improvements proposed... but I was told that these 5 trees were NOT apart of the plan and would not be touched.

I am not only upset about this because of what it does aesthetically to this area and my unit in particular, but I believe removing approx. 50ft trees is a significant change in the scope of the work being done and a HUGE expense that should be approved by the people who foot the bill... the owners.

This petition is to stop them from proceeding with this new scope of work until they inform us of the plan (i.e. what type of landscaping is being done in its replacement, the cost of this work to be done, and to allow for the community to weigh in and vote on where our money is being spent). I am disheartened by the way this was handled considering the owners are who fund our maintenance and improvements to the community. From the prior meetings I attended, budget was a big topic and recall there was minimal available to be used on re-landscaping the area.

Please join me in reminding the board that we have a say in where our money goes, as well as how we want our community to be improved, or not. (We have many other projects and improvements that we have been waiting to do, due to money available. i.e. sidewalks, parking/new asphalt and patio replacements etc.)
