PLEASE HELP!! Captured Wild Horses in Extreme Weather

  • by: Sandra Ponce

While the country is FREEZING in extreme ARTIC weather, our government is rounding up the protected wild mustangs and burros on our public lands.  Recently, on CNN they showed wild mustangs being herded be helicopters flying low over herds of adult and their folds and other frightening means forcing them into cramped small pens.  They had no shelter and the temp was below zero.  The horses were huddled together to try and maintain heat, even the foals were trying to get as close as possible to their mothers for warmth. They couldn't even run free to generate body heat. Our Bureau of Land management is essentially breaking the "Mustang and Burro Protection Act" by engaging in these round ups.  They state the horses can be adopted, sold or they will be euthanized.  The slaughterhouses are supposedly not permitted to buy them, but how can that be controlled effectively?  The cattle, oil, mineral and gas companies are behind these practices for their own purposes.

We MUST apply pressure to this bureau to protect these majestic, defenseless animals and allow them to run free as required by law!  Check out the video at:
