Stop The Closure Of Crestwood School.

Crestwood is a little alt. ed. school in Hamilton, ON and it's for kids who can't function in mainstream school for various reasons, either because they are slower than other kids or they have some kind of behavioral problem that prevents them from being able to function in normal schools or for various other reasons. For a lot of people having Crestwood there is a necessity for their success when it comes to education. Crestwood is a nurturing and unique environment. There are approximately 60 students registered at Crestwood and it is both a elementary and secondary school. Teachers bring in there dogs and there is always free food somewhere. Dogs and food what gets better? I'll tell you, the teachers actually listen to you and help you. Everyone knows everyone and so any conflict that there is ends quickly. Crestwood isnt just a school it is a community, and it is a family and if I didnt have Crestwood I wouldnt make it out of highschool. Now here's the problem. The HWDSB has decided to close Crestwood and use it as an office building. They are splitting us up, sending a majority of us to mainstream school, and the rest to classrooms that are being put aside in mainstream schools for us. They are taking away the community and they are sending us to fail in schools. A lot of us are dropping out if Crestwood closes. I know I will. They are taking away the last hope for a majority of kids, and they are taking away the dogs, and the helpful teachers and the confilct free environment and the free food, for what? For an office buidling. With an indoor pool. AN INDOOR POOL. Why do they think they have the right to destroy the education of so many so that they can have a new building to put their offices in and a new pool to swim in.
