Over the years, the popular Pokemon anime has received a number of home video releases ranging from VHS to BluRay but none have ever featured the option of watching with the original Japanese audio with subtitles. In truth, the most recent releases are more censored than ever, having episodes that were already dubbed in English removed due to cameo appearances by the Pokemon Jynx's early design. Furthermore, it does not even seem to be possible to watch the entire series in its original Japanese form through third-party means. While a number of episodes have been subtitled by fans, an equally large portion, including late in the Kanto run, have not.
I have proposed an uncensored, subtitled release for Pokemon to ViZ Media. They have said they would take my suggestion into consideration, so now it is just up to the fans to show them there's interest.
