TO OUR ENTIRE TRIBE FAMILY
As you may or may not know, since we became a Chartered Member of the Cal Ripken/Babe Ruth Organization in 2014 we have grown each year. To give you an idea of our growth, in 2014 we began with 15 total teams and roughly around 175 players. As we stand today, Lakeshore as a league has grown to 27 teams and well over 300 dedicated baseball and softball players! Lakeshore thanks all of our Tribe Members for their trust and dedication to us as an organization for our area's youth!
Along with our growth there has become a need for field space. This year we have well over 130 players who are age 8 and younger. This is a double-edged sword. We love the fact that we have so many young families calling our fields' home. The problem is we are running out of field space to accommodate games. We are currently in the process of submitting a proposal for a new Tee Ball field which will be given to the Hammond Port Authority. This field will be placed near the existing Tee Ball Field so as to keep it in close proximity to restrooms and concessions. Once completed, we see it as not only being a field beautiful enough to stand with the rest of our fields, but one that is very necessary to continue our growth!
