I am posting this as part of that campaign, their calendar contest initiative. You must realize I NEVER ask for money; I tend to be the one giving out charitable money. Along with other acts of kindness towards animals that I try my best to do daily, I thought I would participate in their calendar contest, with 100% of the proceeds being donated to the SPCA.
Now the hard part for me... This particular act of kindness goes hand-in-hand with my unconditional love for my precious Badgley, who passed away last year with pancreatic cancer, tearing a piece of my heart out forever. He was young. He still had that youthful twinkle in his eyes, and the energy of a teenager until the very end. I've had pets all my life, but this passing broke my heart immensely. We were so very close. Each other's Best Friend... he was the only one that would give me the time of day through the most torturous times of my life. He was the only one that listened to me, reached out to me in comfort with one his beautiful paws, gave me the most amazing kisses, and let me cry into his plush fur. He touched my soul like no other. He was my Angel and kept me alive - seriously. He is STILL my Angel, and together we do an act of kindness in the name of animal welfare every single day. He did so much for me and there is nothing I would not do for him. Keeping his memory alive is one of the ways I achieve that, dulling my pain for moments at a time. It may sound corny, but I know fellow animal lovers out there will understand.
Please know that I am NOT an attention seeker or have an enormous unhealthy ego. If it were not for Badgley having the possibility of being immortalized in this beautiful calendar and charitable fundraising for all the good SPCA does for animals daily, you would never see me on this side of a story/petition.
I turn to you, a little embarrassed to be doing this honestly. Your kind consideration is all that I ask for. Badgley was my life, taken away from me way too soon. The SPCA represents hope and mercy for all our animal friends. It is the pain of one event colliding with the hope of another, if that makes any sense.
Thank you so very much for taking the time to read this. And thank you for all that YOU do for the animals. :-)
With purrs and love,
Yvette & Badgley
