Let Fridays be casual days at El Toro HS and La Cueva and others . . .

Danielle Ernst of El Toro high school in California who has a 4.0 GPA and does well in school was recently insulted by the school for wearing a reasonable v-neck and sweater on the grounds it was low-cut . . . and the girls of La Cueva in New Mexico have been told they can't wear their cheerleader uniforms in school on Fridays cause they violate a school dress code. I don't think the girls can win completely by having the school drop the "dress code". . . but I also think the school can and should accomodate them by allowing for Friday's to be a day of dress-code-unenforced (except maybe for see-thru nip exposures) and for Monday to Thursday be days of voluntary request and voluntary compliance. The request made on Monday to Thursday should be in the form of, "We appreciate your desire to enjoy your self-expression; would you feel bad about keeping it to Fridays in future weeks?" and leave it at that.

There is a girl in Wyoming fighting the dress code in her school district.  She is on the debate or speech team and she claims there is no research backing up the idea that dress codes improve academic performance . . . Her county is natrona, I think

A few years ago, in San Diego county, on the first day of school, a school district with a new dress code sent home a cheerleader for being in violation. She was upset and not thinking clearly and in a car accident and lost her life on her way home. The "dress code" isn't worth the cost in upsetting the girls . . . and in Orange County, and San Diego county, of all places, anyone can see what they wish at the beach.

One question is how well would it work for the school to send people home or give them (30 to 50 of them) most Fridays?  I don't know, but I do know that when the Romanian dictator fell, it was over his attempt to get his armed forces and then his security forces to move some church or pastor . . . and people didn't go along with it . . . and they showed up at the church in support . . .  the armed forces wouldn't fire on the people and so Ceausescu unleashed the special security forces and that started a civil war between the armed forces and the special security forces .  . . and the armed forces won.
