Parking Reform for the Global Neighborhood!

As the residents of the Global Neighborhood, we are frustrated and fed up with the poor communication on the part of the administration and campus security in regards to the parking regulations for students with parking passes. Over the last year, there have been multiple new rules, lots, and restrictions placed on students with little to no warning or ability to provide input on the changes made that affect us.

We demand clear, comprehensible guidelines in regards to parking and the guarantee of at least 48 hours notice prior to any event in which residents of the Global Neighborhood would need to relocate their vehicles. Furthermore, we request that the university reconsider its decision to close the Hunt A lot to students; it is never utilized on a daily basis and is only used for games at Schar Stadium during which students are required, under penalty of fines and towing, to move their cars from Hunt B anyway. Due to all of the alterations made to parking this past year, the students also request that the university reevaluate the cost of parking passes for students. We are expected to relocate our cars for football games and thus receive parking at a discounted rate, this rule should also apply to basketball games for which we are now also expected to move our vehicles.
