NO to Park and Ride in Weston, Florida

On April 1, 2019, the City of Weston rescinded the support to the FDOT to build a Park & Ride facility at the entrance of the city (I-75 and Royal Palm Boulevard) with about 170 spaces. Still, even with a complete opposition of the City and the residents, the FDOT has decided to move forward with this project. Also note that the FDOT didn't even have the criminal rates and it was our Commissioner Mary Molina Macfie that together with Chief Butler (BSO) were able to prove to them that a Park & Ride will be detrimental to the safety of the residents of Weston. Additionally, we believe this project will negatively impact our home values and bring additional traffic, aside from being stuck with an eyesore and having to pay BSO and maintenance with our taxes. Because of that, I urge you to please sign this petition and share it so it can be presented to our governor Ron DeSantis and to any other elected official to STOP this project that the FDOT is imposing on us.

Dear Westonian, please attend the Weston City Commissioner's meeting on Monday March 18 at 7 pm. Address: 17250 Royal Palm Boulevard. Please wear RED and try to bring as many people as you can since the FDOT project will be reviewed and our City needs to understand we, Westonians, don't want this project.

In regards to the Park and Ride and all roadway expansions proposed, I'm in opposition to this proposal. The years of construction will negatively impact everyone without benefitting many. I request an intensive review of the proposal and a public hearing with the findings.

Why are Weston business being hit with a 5% tax increase? Why is a bus terminal park & ride being built in Weston? Why are Weston roads being altered, widened to accommodate a bus terminal using our tax dollars? Is the increase in business taxes and costs justifiable? Westonians please understand that if the business are being taxed, services and good prices will increase and for what... buses are empty! Please share our petition and spread the word!

Update from today's 3/4 commissioners meeting in regards to the Park & Ride project: The project is in its infant stage. This means that no determination has been done so we are in time for this project to be stopped.

Thanks for signing the petition. We already have 117 signatures in a couple of hours, everyone please share and ask your friends to do the same thing because we want to reach 1000 signatures by tomorrow so that we can present them at tomorrow Commissioner's meeting. The opinion of the residents is what the City should had requested before giving the support to the FDOT, now we are doing the work for them :(. Please share, we can do it, Weston UNITED! Thanks,
