Point Roberts Special District 20.72 is a Small Town Commercial Zoning Overlay which has significantly damaged the prospects for economic well being in our community. In 2017, just over 130 Point Roberts locals demanded that the Point Roberts Character Plan be repealed, and within a year that is exactly what happened.
Unfortunately, a number of Character Plan components were merged with Point Roberts Special District 20.72 at that time, and in just under two years the business community is feeling the negative effects of 20.72.
All of Whatcom County, except Point Roberts, falls under 20.61 (Small Town Commercial Zoning). Point Roberts is therefore NOT EQUAL in the eyes of Whatcom County.
Sign the Repeal 20.72 Petition to urge both the Hearing Examiner and County Council to repeal Point Roberts Special District 20.72, restoring Small Town Commercial Zoning 20.61 status to Point Roberts.
