Pinellas County tax payers have paid enough! Windsor Prep Academy, and it's sister school East Windsor Middle Academy need to have the charter terminated by the Pinellas County School Board.
For the past three years it has been run by a corrupt management company, Newpoint Education Partners, which just had several indictments handed down against them in Escambia County. They may well face charges here in Pinellas as well.
After three years the parents have finally taken an interest and are trying to take over and manage the schools themselves. They are inexperienced, and lack knowledge of how to operate a school, and are faced with the daunting task of trying to repair all of the previous issues as well as try and prepare for a future that is questionable at best.
Worse, they still have a Board Chairman who has many financial and business ties to the previous management company, and many of it's operatives, like Marcus May and David Styles, who go back to White Hat in Ohio. White Hat is a notorious charter school company, involved in many scandals.
With this same person in the lead, using his own company and/or affiliations to provide services for the school, that TAX PAYERS PAY FOR, there is every reason to believe that the same corrupt shenanigans will play out again.
Further, none of the parents trying to take over have been vetted in any way, shape, or form which means they can not show that they are capable of undertaking such a massive endeavor. One which costs the tax payers an average of SIX MILLION DOLLARS A YEAR!
THIS MUST STOP BEFORE THE TAX PAYERS OF THIS COUNTY AND STATE LOSE ANY MORE.
Please sign the petition and email the Pinellas County School Board at super@pcsb.org and the Pinellas County Board of Commisioners at board@pcsb.org to tell them that enough is enough.
