Bevan Badgery Park Upgrade

We are calling on the Wingecarribee Shire Council to Upgrade Bevan Badgery Park as at present its one playing surface Community Oval, is being becoming unsafe as it is overused and is utilized by the following:

  • Moss Vale Junior Dragons RLC's one hundred and seventy (170) players,
  • Moss Vale Senior Dragons RLFC‘s eighty (80) registered players,
  • And, OzTag’s Southern Highlands Junior Competition's one hundred and fifty (150) players.

Over the last three (3) years the facility has not been used to its full capacity due to field closures by Wingecarribee Shire Council during wet weather periods as the surface has been too wet and unsafe for use, resulting in a reduction of player participation.

These cancellations have a detrimental effect on all the clubs using the facility's participation levels an fundraising activities, which intern affects available funds to adequately meet the required and increasing costs to provide participation in sport with the best possible resources, equipment, etcetera. The number of closures over the last three (3) years (2011 – 2013) are:

  • Forty two (42) days out two hundred and ninety eight (298).
