A 22 yrs old girl has a quadriplegia, which caused by an injury to the spinal cord that contains the nerves that transmit messages of movement and sensation from the brain to parts of the body, She was in a vehicle drove by a college student who has a conviction for dangerous driving (crashed at 150km/h) late 2019 in Japan. she spent ICU around a week and got a miracle to come to herself.
After that, I (her father) sent her to another hospital to have a regenerative medicine to recover even if only slightly. She had also a rehabilitation by robot in hard work for her just one step and stand up herself in a future.
The issue is that the insurance company and Japan government decline these fee of treatment and rehabilitation. One of their reason is these treatments are not general method at hospital, it's called 'high grade medical attention'
As you may know, they have been developing an 'Advanced Medical' around since 2000 in Japan. A Ministry of Health and Welfare (like FDA in US) has granted to use them and rehabilitation robot has also permitted to use as medial equipment by them already.
I have asked them several times why, however, they can't answer clearly, On the contrary an insurance company and the court insist to make us declare 'Quit treatment and rehabilitation' to get start judgement for court house with their protocols. My daughter has still nine symptoms to cure. What kind people is saying 'Stop treatment and robot' to her who is eager to walk again?
I want to start petition against an insurance company (Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Company, Limited) and the administrator government of Financial Services Agency as follows;
1. Proceed with the payment for her treatment and rehabilitation at hospital method. These are not 'special' but those are done by national hospital and granted by one of government of Ministry of Health and Welfare in japan.
2. Stop saying "'Quit treatment and rehabilitation' to get start judgement for court house."
Nobody can understand what want to do. They have several old convention and/or precedent in law in japan. They never try to change it along with the age.
Please let me know also how works in these cases foreign countries?
My daughter and I really want everyone to get appropriate medical care at the right time.
