Protect the Fed’s Independence — Stop Trump's Illegal Removal of Governor Lisa Cook

Donald Trump is trying to do something no president has ever done: fire a Federal Reserve governor, Lisa Cook.  Why?  Because she won't let him dictate Fed decisions on critically important things like interest rates.

The Fed is supposed to be independent, not Trump's puppet.  And it is supposed to make decisions based on what is best for the economy, not what is politically expedient for the president.  This is why presidents cannot remove Fed officials just on a whim. Trump does not have that power, regardless of what he claims or posts IN ALL CAPS on social media.

Besides, do we really want critical decisions for our economy to be dictated by a guy with six bankruptcies? 

Lisa Cook is fighting the decision, and suing to keep her job.  And we stand with her.
