Keep Puppy Place out of Springfield, MA!

Please sign this petition and urge the Springfield City Council and Mayor to NOT issue a kennel permit to The Puppy Place! This disgraceful puppy mill store with countless violations and horrendous inspection reports and complaints (on review sites, to MSPCA, HSUS, BBB, and MA Division of Animal Health), plans to move from West Springfield to Springfield soon. Documentation from the USDA, MA DAH, and MSPCA has been collected that PROVES they sell only puppy mill dogs (despite their claims that they do not) many of which are seriously ill and have behavioral problems. The Puppy Place's veterinarian gives every dog sold a "thumbs-up", despite symptoms of illnesses and other health problems obvious to any veterinarian. This business takes advantage of trusting customers, many of which have shared their complaints and heartbreaking stories online. Many cannot afford the veterinary bills and have had to euthanize their dogs that need expensive treatment. And some have had to euthanize their dogs for mere medical reasons. Imagine all the needless pain and suffering both the dogs and loving families must endure merely because they put their trust into this business and their veterinarian. did an excellent investigative article and follow-up piece in November 2017 showing documentation and Puppy Place customers' stories:, (I recommend reading comments below the articles).

This store was also issued a cease & desist back in 2008 for horrible violations (, but with the state's and USDA's weak regulations they were able to stay in business. Their North Andover store was also issued a cease & desist and eventually closed (

With your help we can keep The Puppy Place out of Springfield. PLEASE SHARE ASAP...especially with Springfield residents, Puppy Place customers, and anyone involved in animal welfare or animal health! Thank you!
