Statement from the transporter " her and her friend and Bryon were the only ones there" Bryon went into the kennel with the dog who was lying on the cement she seemed calm at that time Bryon put the leash around her neck and picked her up and as they exit the kennel he told her you better not bite me once outside of the shelter he put the dog on the ground and she was a little spooked and he was dragging her making her walk and she was in pain and once they got behind the car that was to transport her he tried to pick her up and put into the kennel in the car and she got spooked and bit him at that point he got very angry and dragged the dog on the leash from the car to his truck and picking the dog up by the leash not touching the dog Bryon flung her so hard into the truck cage that she hit the back of the cage and he told the transporter he was taking her to be tested for rabies.
EUTHANIZED
Elba Shelter dog that was to get her freedom ride yesterday 3/28/2018 was euthanized by Bryon Carpenter. This sweet girl came to the shelter with a foot injury, malnourished and in pain so I found a rescue that would take her and she had a sponsor to cover her vet visit, next step was to get someone to transport her to the vet and Bryon was instructed by a volunteer to not pick her up to take the crate my transporter brought and put in the kennel and ease her into it, well this was not how it was done for Bryon decided not to do it that way and put a leash on her while she was in the kennel and at some point with the dog being in pain and being drugged to the car Bryon was bit when he tried to pick her up and that is were it all went to hell, my transporter called me and said there was a change in plans for Bryon said he was taking the dog to be tested for rabies and we all know what that meant, a volunteer called him and I called him because we felt euthanizing her was wrong and I told him she should be quarantined but he was pissed and strongly told me the city wouldn't pay for that and I told him we have a vet to quarantine her and it wouldn't cost Elba City anything but he was mad and said no she was being euthanized, my heart hurts for this girl for she didn't deserve this and Bryon Carpenter should be fired. Please help me get justice for her.
