Donkeys in Santorini

The Donkeys in Santorini Greece are over worked, taking tourist up and down the cliff that extends almost 2 kilometres (1.2 mi) along the northern edge of the caldera that forms about 300 m (980 ft) . The donkeys sometimes take tourists with two kids and heavy backpacks or take really heavy set people on them. Some of these donkeys are injured and have a difficult time walking and if they do not move quickly, they are beaten by the owner. I personally watched how these animals are drenched in sweat and overheated from the temperatures over 100 degrees. They offered these animals NO ,water, no break, and no care whatsoever. These donkeys are under a lot of stress and their pain is so obvious from going up and down the slippery broken down path. There are are other alternatives to get to town such as taking the cable car which cost approximately 10 euro each way pp which run every few minutes so the wait is minimal. Also, you can ride up or take a hike. Therefore, there's no reason to put these animals through these horrible nightmare. Please help end the pain and suffering of these animals once and for all.
