Please tell the NYC Landmarks Preservation Commission not to destroy the garage at 375 Stuyvesant Avenue in Bedford Stuyvesant, Brooklyn.
Dear Comissioner Srinivasan:
I respectfully urge the Landmarks Preservation Commission to flatly reject any change to the Stuyvesant Mansion (aka the Seidenberger Mansion) located at 375 Stuyvesant Avenue.
No part of this historic structure should be lost or manipulated including the attached garage which was built in 1914 along with the mansion, and is currently the oldest automobile garage in Stuyvesant Heights.
The space surrounding the building needs to be preserved as well in order to maintain the integrity of the mansion—to retain its prominent position in our beloved Stuyvesant Heights. We have so few of these free-standing mansions left.
