Halal food at schools

My issue is that in many coutries in America there are schools that provide meat for the students lunch, but none of that meat is halal meaning the Islam students can not eat it and they either have to skip the meals loosing a healthy source of protein and some families give there students free lunch because they cannot afford to buy lunch for the students ever day . One day in my principles of human services class in my middle school , my teacher had 2 Islam students in her class and I was one of them we had a project where we make a days meal and one of those meals included lasonia and that had meat as an ingredient she bought all of the materials needed to make that meal and my friend (the other muslin) went and gave my teacher the address to a store that seeks halal meat and the store worker gave her the meat for free and she was grateful but that led me to think about why we cannot all use the same meat because she still went out and bought the normal meat ,but I looked it up and found that both meats cost the same and taste the same so why can’t we all just eat the same meat the only difference is the animal dies in peace so why can’t we just make the school meats all halal .
