As a homeowner for almost 10 years now in my Temecula community myself and my homeowner neighbors on my block in Temecula have constantly battled the AWEFUL parking situation on our residential street. Due to the apartment and townhouse community in our neighborhood. It has made our street parking unbearable all hours of the day. It is beyond unfair that we as homeowners "property tax payers", our families and guest have to park up the street and walk to our homes for parking ALL DUE to the apartment tenants and their 2nd, 3rd and sometimes abandoned vehicles being parked or left in front of our homes days weeks at a time. We have had vehicles block homeowners driveways, weekly street cleaner has to drive around vehicles parked in the way because apartment tenants do not know or care that it is street cleaning day, trash cans cannot be placed in front of our homes for trash pick up that we homeowners pay services for. Emergency fire hydrant is blocked constantly because apartment/ townhome tenants do not care because the curbs are not painted red. As our request, we are asking for our one street Calle Violetta and street parking in front of each homeowners home on Mira Loma Drive be designated for parking to the homeowners ONLY in our neighborhood. We are asking for the city of Temecula to step in and make this happen for the small group of homeowners , property tax payers who deserve this fair parking request. We did not BUY homes to have our families and guest walk around the corner or down the street to our homes for parking. Most apartment tenants/residents do not want to pay for parking or garages within their apartment/ townhouse community so they revert to street parking that is unfairly clogging up our street parking for the homeowners property tax payers. There is a simple solution apartment and townhome residents street parking should be designated for parking on Mira Loma Drive ONLY and NOT in front of the homeowners property tax payers homes on Mira Loma Drive. They should be notified thru apartment/ townhouse management when street cleaning, trash pick up days are and not be RUDE !!! to the homeowners property tax payers in our community. As an apartment tenant it is unfortunate that you may need to use street parking that is an insensitive for apartment tenants to work hard and become homeowners as myself and my neighbors have all done so.
