Investigate Narodni Cirkus Original Berousek

T-Mobile Austria dropped an advert featuring a circus elephant after learning about the suffering and cruelty behind the use of animals in circuses, after the issue being brought up by Animal Defenders International. The advert featured Naira, a 44-year old elephant who was captured in the wild only to now be held in captivity with the Czech circus Narodni Cirkus Original Berousek. Despite the advert being dropped, as far as I am aware, Naira is still with the circus along with other animals, possibly including zebras, camels and horses. Although their website seems to make out that they take animal welfare seriously, circuses that use wild animals are known for their abuse of the animals, including keeping them in “beast wagons”, in cages, keeping them chained and beating them.
Naira was caught in the wild and she and all of the other animals with Narodni Cirkus Original Berousek deserve to be treated with kindness. We demand that this circus be investigated and that, if they are found guilty of animal cruelty, that all the animals be taken to good, reputable sanctuaries where they can live out the rest of their time with us in large, natural habitat enclosures, being cared for by those who know a lot about their species and care about animals.
