380 Bypass- NO to Segment A YES to Segment B

We, the undersigned City of McKinney, TX residents and/or property owners, respectfully petition the TxDOT NOTapprove Segment A,  making  380 a limited access freeway between Custer and Ridge Rd, or supporting any future bypass alignment that enters Highway 380 East of Custer Road for the following reasons:

  1. If Highway 380 were widened or made a limited access freeway through McKinney, it would cause years of costly and hazardous construction before Custer rd to Ridge rd, it would  destroy the only  entrance of Tucker Hill as well as be extremely detrimental to Stonebridge Ranch, Auburn Hills, Kensington and many nearby businesses.... we support the City of McKinney in their efforts to protect these areas.
  2. Segment B will save taxpayers $99 million or more
  3. Segment B required 73% less business and residential displacements
  4. Segment B avoids costly reconstruction of 380 intersection at Custer rd

We do support an alternative bypass route North of Highway 380, crossing Custer Road  and entering Highway 380 WEST of Custer Road, utilizing as much open, undeveloped space as possible to provide the thoroughfare. Extending the bypass slightly west into Prosper accounts for less than 4% of the total distance. This option will both save millions  and preserve existing homes and businesses making this option the best solution for the City of McKinney and the region.

Update #15 years ago
We are at a critical point and need your help. We need more signatures to preserve our commercial tax base and save countless homes and businesses that would be detrimentally impacted if 380 is widened to a Limited Access Roadway. TxDOT will have 2-3 final alignments on October 4th. Opposition is mounting, and we need our position solidified by the constituents of McKinney that we prefer a bypass West of Custer Road. Please have one friend, neighbor, or business owner sign today.
