Make Halloween on Saturday or Friday!

Halloween is a fun time for a lot of children. Most kids trick-or-treating are elementary school kids and have a bed time of 7:30-8:30. If Halloween almost always falls on a weekday, kids can’t enjoy the holiday unless their parents let them be late to school the next day. If we make Halloween on Saturdays or Fridays, kids and parents don’t have to worry about being in bed on time for school. Halloween is meant for kids, and if kids can’t enjoy the holiday, then what’s the point? Kids could stay up later (if allowed) to trick-or-treat, and get more enjoyment out of it. Halloween happens once a year, and do kids get a 1 or 2 day break for it? No. But they have Columbus day off, and possibly Labor Day. If Halloween falls on a weekday, schools should start school late or cancel school the next day.
