My husband passed away on November 20th he was collecting a pension and we were not married at the time we got married he wanted to put me pension as beneficiary and they would not allow it because he signed a single life before we got married this is wrong the laws need to be changed to correct it there are women out here in my situation the private company should not be allowed how to get away with that some of the spouses have family they need that pension especially if they're young to collect social security or they never had children they should not be allowed to keep the money that I spouse is worked hard for
