Protect and Preserve Wildlife

Please share this to spread awareness for wildlife.

All over the world, wildlife species are slowly declining and some are reaching extinction. We, humans, are destroying natural habitats left and right, harming the ecosystem. Wildlife is important to maintain balance within our ecosystem.

More than 99% of all species, amounting to over five billion species, that ever lived on Earth are estimated to be extinct. Estimates on the number of Earth's current species range from 10 million to 14 million, of which about 1.2 million have been documented and over 86% have not yet been described. "Although extinction is a natural phenomenon, it occurs at a natural "background" rate of about one to five species per year. Scientists estimate we're now losing species at 1,000 to 10,000 times the background rate, with literally dozens going extinct every day," according to biologicaldiversity.org.

That's why we must try harder to protect wildlife or else the balance within our ecosystem will suffer and we will suffer too. You can sign the Endangered Species Act Legacy Pledge to halt the rapid loss of plant and animal life, visit the National Geographic Big Cats Initiative to see what you can do to help save them from extinction, or plant a tree to create an environment that allows the growth of plants and help absorb climate change emissions and can improve our society's health. There are so many ways we can help protect and preserve wildlife. Take a stand and do what's right.
