Abolish Translucent Bags In Marjory Stoneman Douglas Highschool

Our own Constitution bestows us with a Fourth amendment right that reads "The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized." The Actions that Superintendant Robert Runcie took to implement Clear Backpacks are a gross violation of our Fourth Amendment rights. After a tradgedy as large as the one we experienced as Douglas Students, the Board should be taking actions that will add a warmer, more peaceful environment to our school grounds. Instead, the school board creates the beginning of a conformist, police state environment. Clear backpacks only achieve one thing, and that's making us feel vulnerable. Sign to stand up for the rights our school is taking away right in front of our eyes!
