The world is becoming more diverse the idea of who and what makes an individual is changing. Yet, the nation refuses to recognize mixed race individuals. There are no legal options for them. Biracial Americans are made to choose one race and forgo the other.
No American citizen should be forced to choose half of who they are. US citizens should not be identified wrong or have trouble identifying themselves because the law states choose one side or another. We should demand as a nation that our law makers allow more racial identities on birth certificates. People do not come in one color or gender we are a diverse nation and we should be able to reflect that on our legal required documents. Demand change for ourselves, our children, our future!
