STARVING ELEPHANTS IN THAILAND: WE DEMAND THAI GOVERNMENT TO SEND URGENT AID

Elephants are starving in Thailand.
Since the coronavirus hit, all the tourists have disappeared. With more than 90 camps in northern Thailand, around 1000 elephants are in desperate need of support. There is no money to feed them and they are chained up for almost 24 hours every day on short leads. The problem is being exacerbated by wildfires started by farmers to burning and clear land leaving less and less vegetation to feed them.
We demand that the Thai government steps in immediately with funds and a rescue strategy to save these magnificent animals.
The elephant is the symbol of Thailand; it is majestic, strong, and gentle. If large numbers of elephants die during the current catastrophe, the species may become extinct.
We owe it to the elephants to save them.
