BREAKING NEWS - 14th FEBRUARY - Jyllands Park Zoo, who had threatened to kill “Marius 2” if they were able to acquire a female giraffe to replace him, was not approved to be part of a breeding programme for the species, so the zoo has said that Marius2 will not be killed. A statement published on the zoo’s facebook page stated: “we will of course keep both our giraffes, as we have stated all along. There is no plan, and there has never been a plan to neither move or euthanize any of our giraffes”. This directly contradicts statements made in the last few days, and members of the public remain skeptical.

While the world is still reeling in shock at the slaughter of Marius the baby giraffe at the Copenhagen Zoo last Sunday, yet another giraffe's life is threatened. The Jyllands Park Zoo in Denmark is threatening to kill a healthy 7 year old male giraffe (also named Marius) to make way for a female giraffe. We implore you, Princess Mary, to help us stop the death of this giraffe. We know how much you love animals, we respectfully ask that you please let the Jyllands Park Zoo know that the world is begging for this giraffe's life. Please, have mercy.
