Pet Care Education Should Be Required In Elementary School

Many take it for granted that proper pet care is taught at home by parents. But many adults bring pets into their homes without ever having learned basis care for them as children. They also may view their pets as disposable and not deserving of a permanent home, adding to the already overpopulated shelter system in the USA.

Pet care education should be added to the elementary school curriculum in all states of the USA.

We must advocate for pets and children together! Add your signature requesting that there be mandatory education starting in elementary school for pet care including feeding your pet, vaccinations, vet care and behavioral care, along with how to interact safely with pets.

Change for reducing the number of unwanted pets will only happen when there is a new generation of educated and caring people to take care of them! Make Rescues The Breed Of Choice by starting with education!
