Why Are UK Police Arresting People for Harmless Online Posts?

Across the United Kingdom, we are witnessing an alarming trend of the government's crackdown on free speech. A recent report revealed that police are making an average of 30 arrests per day for supposed hate speech, which is more often simple social media posts.

Arresting individuals for online posts or for expressing controversial opinions is an attack on the right to speak freely without fear of punishment. This is an assault on the very foundation of democracy.

Sign this petition to demand that the UK government stop prosecuting individuals for harmless expression of opinion.

From the criminalization of online posts to arrests for seemingly harmless expressions of frustration through email and WhatsApp – Recent events have shown how easily free speech can be stifled in the name of political correctness and social order.

The recent push to outlaw words that "cause harm" or offend certain individuals threatens to erode the open exchange of ideas. Instead of fostering healthy dialogue, we risk silencing voices that challenge the status quo or express dissenting views.

We demand a reevaluation of arrest protocols that allow individuals to be penalized for criticism, no matter how uncomfortable that criticism may be. The current approach serves only to create a chilling effect, preventing people from speaking out freely. This is a dangerous path to authoritarianism, where dissent becomes a punishable offense.

Sign the petition to demand the UK government ensure that individuals who speak out are not criminalized but protected for their right to express opinions!
