Congress: Name July as Sarcoma Awareness Month

U.S. Rep. Kathy Castor has introduced a resolution, H.RES. 722, to support the designation of July as Sarcoma Awareness Month. We need to act fast! Please contact your U.S. Rep and ask him/her to co-sponsor this resolution.

Sarcoma is a cancer of connective tissue, such as bone and muscle. It is one of the 5 main types of cancer, yet many sarcoma patients have never heard of anyone else with their cancer. They — and their health-care providers — may not know all of the treatment options or that nonprofits can help emotionally and financially.

Sarcoma represents 15% of all childhood cancer cases. It is only 1% of adult cancers, but many think it's underreported. To learn more about sarcoma and find your representative, click here. Thank you so much!!

(I want to honor Dan Schultz, in the photo with his kids, who wanted this resolution passed. He died last week.)

U.S. Rep. Kathy Castor has introduced a resolution, H.RES. 722, to support the designation of July as Sarcoma Awareness Month.

More than 13,000 people in the United States are diagnosed with sarcoma each year, and more than 5,000 die.
That includes men and women, from newborns on up. In fact, sarcoma represents 15% of all childhood cancer cases.

Nevertheless, some representatives say they have more important issues. Please don't brush off "the least among us."
