This Busiest Day for Gun Sales Is Approaching, Just in Time for the Holidays

In 2018, there have been more than 300 mass shootings with over 300 deaths. Unfortunately, those numbers will most likely continue to grow through the end of the year — especially after thousands of people become new gun owners on Black Friday.

Because of seasonal deals, Black Friday has historically been the biggest day of the year for gun purchases, each year surpassing the previous year's record. With so many more guns on the street, even more lives will certainly be lost to gun violence this holiday season.

That's why we're challenging Cabela's and its parent company Bass Pro Shops to stop aggressive efforts to sell guns this Black Friday.

This holiday week has already started with gun violence across the country. Four fatal shootings in four different cities have left ten people dead — and many families left mourning their loved ones instead of getting to enjoy their Thanksgiving holiday. When are we ready to say enough is enough?

We understand that Cabela's and Bass Pro Shops have an interest in selling guns, but they can do that every other day of the year. Instead of worrying about improving their bottom lines, these companies could go a long way towards helping keep families together for the holidays.

Please sign this petition asking these stores to cancel their Black Friday deals and stop pushing gun sales for the holidays.
