Sometimes you get into war to defend from an attack, or to prevent one. And sometimes you blunder your way into it because your president is a moron, who posts this on Truth Social:
"Everyone should immediately evacuate Tehran!"
This is the kind of thing that you say when you are about to carpet bomb someplace. And this is the kind of thing that causes panic, and can lead to preemptive strikes against your country that get a lot of people killed. And if Trump had ever read a history book, or had an advisor who was the least bit competent, he would have known that.
Trump says and does incredibly stupid things on a regular basis, without any internal editing mechanism. Which is bad domestically, but potentially catastrophic when he's injecting his stupidity into an active war zone.
Congress has the Constitutional power to rein in Trump from blundering us into an unnecessary war, and it must use that power to avoid disaster.
