Airlines must give rights to animals traveling.

AN OPEN LETTER TO THE AIRLINE INDUSTRY REGARDING THE TREATMENT OF OUR PETS By Maddox C. Olson parent of Chalky White Olson

As an animal parent I am fed up with the loss of pets, and the death of pets on flights national, and international.

We demand policies, procedures, improvements and checks and balances will be put into place to stop such flagrant animal abuse, death, and lack of animal rights in the airline Industry!!!!

Animals deserve better than to be treated like luggage!!!! Each animal deserves an Animal Ambassador that sees them from the beginning at their arrival at the airport to their Disembarking, and delivery back to their owners loving hands. Pet parents are fed up with the senseless deaths, misplacements and reroutes our animals receive being treated as baggage in your care.

These are loved, living and breathing creatures who deserve to arrive at their destination healthy just as they began their journey.

They are living beings whose travel fare has been paid. We are all willing to pay more to have our pets monitored and cared for.

They should not be treated as BAGGAGE!!!!

They should not be left on the Tarmac in poor weather conditions, not should they go without access to proper ventilation, and temperature controled environments, without water and food. Flying is extremely stressful for animals, more so than for humans and you deny them the loving care of their owner, even when full passage is paid, and they are in the cabin.

They are not mail, nor stoways, but living breathing customers who, at this time, are deprived proper care, environments and handling!!!!

A child handled in this manner would be considered abused and neglected.

If you refuse to allow them rights, then refuse them passage.

Making them your deliberate victims is callous at best and sadistic at worst. It is becoming consistently obviously that such a vein of callous neglect runs through our corporate airline systems. It is becoming more and more obvious with every death and mishandling.

Enough of these deaths, enough of your current policy of total disregard. When we fly we want our animals to arrive at their destination without wonton disrespect, ambivalence, and neglect but with thoughtful caring and consideration. For they are our loved ones and we refuse to allow you to treat them like baggage anymore!! Every owner would be more than happy to pay full fare for the peace of mind their beloved pet would arrive at it's destination alive, and treated with love, and as healthy as when it began it's journey. These animals are not regarded as just baggage to us, but as Family Members and we want them treated that way. Sincerely, Maddox C. Olson
