There has been a site plan proposal to place a 630-650 ft. Industrial Wind Turbine for the corner of YMCA Rd. and Bean Hill Rd. in the Town of Florida, Montgomery County, NY. This project has already failed to pass in 2 neighboring towns and 3 of the 5 proposed in NY by the same company for the concerns of affecting nearby residents quality of life, the natural environment, and wildlife. Town members opposed to the project have spoken out and made it known they do not want this in our town. It will also affects the scenic views of town, add noise, and shows little benefit to the town and its members. There is also a concern to allow a company that has never installed an industrial wind turbine, to install one of the largest ones in the state in our town.
