PUNISH Reed Mathew Compton accused of burning pet dog to death in wood stove

  • by: Kelly Rogers
  • recipient: Midland County District Court Judge Stephen P. Carras

Reed Mathew Compton, 39, was charged with one felony count of killing or torturing animals, which is punishable by up to four years in prison and a $5,000 fine. The incident occurred on Dec. 19 at Comptons East Shaffer Road home, and was investigated by the Midland County Sheriffs Office.

Reed Mathew Compton should be found to be competent enough to stand trial over the death of the poor dog. What he did was extraordinarily heinous and we feel that Compton poses a danger to the community.
