PRESERVE WICKHAM PARK (Melbourne Florida)

Easter Florida State College wants to purchase 77 acres of Wickham Park which is 391 acres that offer a variety of recreational activities to our community.  Hiking trails, camp sites, pine woods and lakes, playgrounds, dog parks and so much more.  There is much wildlife in our park and there is quite a concern what the development would do to such threatened species as the scrub jays and gopher tortoises.

Do we not have enough land that we can build on without touching a serene piece of land that the community gets to enjoy and experience the natural part of Florida.  Even County Commissioner Trudie Infantini doesn't believe building on Wickham park is the best site for this proposed deal and suggests they look at "unused" land at their Palm Bay Campus.

Brevard County Commissioners will be discussing the sale of this 77 acres of Wickham Park to Eastern Florida State College during a meeting that begins at 9:00 a.m. on October 8, 2013 in the Brevard County Government Center, Building C, 2725 Judge Fran Jamieson Way, Viera, FL
