Please save the Elephants! They are being slaughtered in thousands in Africa every year & in Asia too to feed the voracious demand for ivory in China & East Asia. They are being slaughtered with Gun ships in Kenya & entire herds are being wiped out, not even the calves are spared. As if this horrendous act is not enough, their faces are sawed off while they are dying in agony so that the last bit of ivory does not stay behind. Experts have warned that if the senseless slaughter of African Elephants continues at this rate, this gentle giant will be extinct within 20 years. If we don't do aanything drastic, what will we tell our children? Trade in Ivory has been banned officially, the world over, but, unfortunately due to the increaaed demand for Ivory from customers in China & East Asia, it is still rampant & of late acquired horrendous proportions. Those who are buying this BLOOD IVORY are equally responsible for this crime & unless they are not educated about this crime they are committing, this carnage will continue. Equally, the issue of Poverty, Illiteracy, Corruption, Employment, Bribery & the need for more security for the endangered animals will also have to tackled in all the affected countries IMMEDIATELY.
