New York Times: Don't Legitimize Climate Denial

The New York Times has hired conservative columnist Bret Stephens away from the Wall Street Journal. By adding Stephens to their opinion page, the world's most influential newspaper is giving credibility to climate denial.

The old saying, "everyone's entitled to their own opinion, just not their own facts" is being turned on its head in our current political climate. Instead of standing strong against this troubling trend, the New York Times appears to be caving to it.

Stephens has moderated his climate change denial through the years, but as recently as 2015 called climate change an "imaginary enemy" while writing about the Paris Climate Summit.

The irrefutable facts and urgency of the climate crisis demand attention, not obfuscation. New York Times, reverse this hiring decision. Do not use your masthead to legitimize climate change denial.
