Help stop the removal of Bolivian Sculptures in Split

Efra Avila,a Bolivian-Croatian artist, during the 2012 made for free in the forest-park Marjan in Split,Croatia three large interactive sculptures, unique in all the world. This artwork represents a remarkable didactic compound that simultanously develops thinking outside the box, stimulates motor skills and enforce curiosity for research of various options.Interactive sculptures, which have both artistic and practical value, are made from materials of the Marjan forest-from discarded and diseased trees and chains. Those sculptures are made with the blessing of then director of the park-forest Marjan. Now,the President of the new formed Governing Council for the park-forest Marjan,Srdjan Marinic found that there was no documetation about it and he said that the sculptures must be urgent removed.During the conversation,Marinic said some difficult words to artist, about his lineage and race, such as that he had no right to make anything of what he did on Marjan, becuase there are Croatian artists that would like to make there their own artwork. It was also said that those sculptures were dangerous because children could climb and get hurt, but the artist explained that sculptures were made like puzzles for solving, not for climbing.Efra spent 15000 euros of his own savings,he worked for six months with the help of thousands of Split's volounteers. With his artistic visionsbacked with the enormous creative capacity,Efra impresses with his honest willingness to work selflessly and for the benefit of the wider community and ultimately, for the Mother Earth. This is the only example of such sculptures in Croatia and in all the world and it's a great honour to have something like that in Split,so let us help to keep this unique artwork and to keep politics out of art.

Dear Mr Ivo Baldazar,

it has come to our attention that Srdjan Marinic plans to remove Efra Avila`s sculptures from forest park Marjan after almost two years with notation that it doesn`t have appropriate licence to be there. We plead you to cancel this request because previous President of Governing Council of forest par Marjan Mate Kosovic approved this art project so with that all the proper approval and licences were definately met. Also these sculptures are really popular with children because they are essentialy puzzles, and children solve them for fun. Your notation that these sculptures are dangerous because children can climb them and get hurt that way is preposterous because children aren`t even supposed to be on Marjan without proper adult or parental guide so they can be stopped on time if that case comes to be. Since these sculptures / puzzles are also a great art addition to Marjan and by the number of people that signed this petition and share the same viewpoint on Efra`s sculptures are really great, we plead you again to cancel this request and allow the sculptures to remain where they are. Also we plead you to take care of this sculptures because they need to be maintained over time so they stay neat, clean and useble in the end. A lot of effort has been put in creating these sculptures so it would only be fair, since it was a gift to city of Split, to show gratitude by mainatning them.
