HELP US: CRUEL ELEPHANT SANCTUARY IN SRI LANKA

Photo taken by Petitioner on 22nd January 2018

Location: Elephant Village, Mologoda, Sri Lanka

I was taken to this place in error in January 2018. It was a heartbreaking sight.... one that I will never forget, it will haunt me forever.
Nothing more than a parking lot, with elephants chained for long periods of time in the heat, waiting for the next tourist to come along. Wounds can clearly be seen. The elephants are fearful of the keepers. Which again was heartbreaking. The elephants are constantly shouted at....it's relentless. They can hardly move without being shouted at and threatened with the bull hook/stick.

Knowing that these elephants live in chains, so short they cant move, day after day, night after night, never roaming free is devastating. Despite being told they roam free at night.....I find this highly unlikely! Which again, is heartbreaking.

I saw 4 elephants. They told me they had 7 in total.

You can never unsee such sadness In ones eyes. So I can't stand back and do nothing, I will fight to get this place investigated......the owner investigated....and these beautiful creatures moved to a place where they can actually live and enjoy the rest of their days. Or minimum - to be monitored regularly.

This place is very much off the radar.... only locals will take you here....it doesn't have a website.
This place needs to be brought to light....which is what I'm trying to do.

This place has no connection to the Government run sanctuary which is a 15 minute drive away.

Please help by signing this petition....and sharing it on any platform that you can. We need to help these elephants as a matter of urgency.

Thank you so much ❤
