Texas governor wants to kill people by removing life-saving mask mandates

Governor Greg Abbott of Texas wants to kill people.

There's no other way to put it. Even though new variants of the deadly and highly-contagious novel coronavirus are spreading rapidly throughout the United States, including Texas, he's pushing the residents of his state into an inexcusable and mortally dangerous situation.

Sign the petition to demand that the Texas state legislature overturn Governor Abbott's callous and dangerous decision to lift the mask mandate!

With more than half a million Americans dead from COVID-19 as of March 4, 2021, we ought to be hunkering down and beating this virus by continuing to practice time-tested, evidenced-based, life-saving practices such as physical distancing and masking up.

Instead, Greg Abbott decided to open Texas wide up. Like, all the way up. On Tuesday, March 2nd, Abbott announced that all businesses in the entire state are allowed to go back to "business as usual," including dangerous indoor operations like restaurants, bars, clubs, and gyms.

And he simultaneously lifted the mandate requiring residents to wear masks.

Now, millions of people have the option to go fully maskless, indoors, breathing each other's potentially infectious and virus-filled air. There could not be a stupider decision than this one.

On top of this, he's trying to blame immigrants for the spread of COVID-19, spewing xenophobic misinformation on Twitter. Yet the real reason for a spread in COVID? It's him. The blame rests solely on this reckless man's shoulder.

Now is not the time to be foolish and cause a resurgence in this terrifying virus. Especially when we are so close to victory! The vaccines are here, and all we have to do is wait out the storm until we can all achieve herd immunity by us all getting inoculated.

Sign the petition! Keep Texas safe! Bring back the masks!
