Immunity Clause License to Loot in Nigeria

I have always been against the Immunity from Prosecution granted the Executives while in office. The reason being that in the United States where I lived for many years Executives are prosecuted while in office and jailed if found guilty of the alleged crime.
One good lesson we should learn from develop Countries is that it's good and better to investigate and prosecute any political and public office holder while he or she is in office and not after they have left office. If it's done in develop Countries don't see why developing countries cannot likewise.
I mean if any of these Executives knows they will be prosecuted while in would buckle up and do the right things expected of them as servants of the people. One absurd reason always given is that governance would be slow if they don't have Immunity.
I disagree with that absurd notion. No one is an Island of knowledge and governance is supposed to be a team work not one centered on one person. The advantage we stand to gain from removing Executives immunity is far more than the disadvantage. Under the guise of immunity many of Nigerians Executives past and present have perpetuated all kinds of atrocities against Humanity (Human Rights) only for them to use the proceeds to cover and frustrates prosecution while out of office.
Lastly and in this light I call for the removal of the Immunity Clause from the Nigeria Constitution without any debate if we're to make any meaningful progress in our socio-economic life as a Country.
