What type of human being would enjoy torturing and killing dogs (and cats) in the most horrific and cruel way? Psychopaths? Deranged persons? No! Young and old, male and female it doesn't seem to matter. They all do it. And they feel no guilt about what they do.
It is sickening and has no place in our society.
The dog meat trade is rife in countries like China, Indonesia, South Korea, where eating dog meat is said to promote virility and keep you warm in winter. The more brutally the animal is killed the better according to sources in these countries. The people in the trade state it is their livelihood and to stop it would cause undue hardship.
There are a number of solutions to ending the trade. The most important solution is to end puppy farming and provide an alternative means of earning money by proper farming of vegetables for example. The second is to start a state-funded sterilization programme to reduce the number of stray dogs getting pregnsnt. The third important matter is to make the stealing of dogs from owner a punishable offence. And last it goes without saying that cruelty to animals by whomsoever must be severely punished.
