Drop the Rocks!

As residents of West, we have many great things to offer each other and are blessed to live in such a wonderful community. Our local city government has had their hands full in recent years with both tragedies and triumphs, but now as we look forward, and work to grow our community in thoughtful ways, one has to wonder why our council members think $60,000 for fake rocks along route 35 is a good idea. How will large synthetic stones on the north and south ends of the town help us as residents? Even the proposed location of these rocks makes no sense, as they are to be placed outside of the frontage road, not close or easily visible to the freeway at all. One would think that $60,000 would be better spent on roads, drainage, facilities, or even civic programs. Let’s remind our representatives that our money should be spent wisely, and not on fake monuments. Please attend the public budget hearings August 23 at 8:00 am and August 30 at 5:00, in the community center. Let your voice be heard!
