Thank you caring Followers! We have an update on Deacon, now re-named Peturnia...once she was immediately seen by the specialists at Noah’s Ark Rescue, in addition to her extreme case of demodex, upon further testing they now suspect her wounds look like she was caught on fire several weeks ago. Petunia is in critical care and will be there for quite a while recovering. Right now, they have her comfortable and sedated so her body can begin to heal. The pain she has endured for months has finally stopped. For the next two weeks, she will be kept heavily medicated so she will not be in any pain from the wounds but will still be able to function and play if she feels like it.

Petunia is one of thousands of heart-wrenching examples of exactly why BARCS works so closely with our dedicated Rescue partners and veterinarians in helping to save animals lives.

Here is how you can help:

Anyone with information about Petunia should contact: Animal Control at (410) 396-4689

• BARCS has started a collection for a Reward. To donate online, please visit: http://baltimoreanimalshelter.org/donate, click on the Donate Now button and please BE SURE to enter “Petunia” in the Tribute Name box, so we can properly credit your gift.

Or, you can mail a check made payable to BARCS to: BARCS Petunia Reward Fund, 301 Stockholm Street, Baltimore, MD, 21230.

The reward money will be held for one year and if there are no leads and/or convictions by that time, the money will be transferred to the BARCS Franky Fund to help other animals like Petunia.

If you would like to donate toward Petunia’s care, please visit the Noah’s Ark Rescue website at http://www.noahs-arks.net/.

Thank you!
