A man in the U.S. state of Maine allegedly
sexually assaulted a dog until the poor animal became
physically paralyzed. Veterinarians tried to help the animal, but because of her severe and debilitating injuries, they were ultimately forced to humanely euthanize her.

This man must be kept far away from other pets!The man had apparently only recently moved in as a roommate into someone else's home. He had told others that he only liked to be around female dogs, and didn't enjoy the company of male dogs. The home's primary occupant had a 6-year-old dog, an Airedale terrier named Sophie. Several weeks into his new living situation, his roommates went out, leaving Sophie alone with their new roommate.
What happened next was extremely disturbing and devastating for both Sophie and her owner.
As a result of what this man did to her, her back legs became completely paralyzed, and now she is dead.An animal control office stated that his team will perform a necropsy and the officials will examine the results of the sexual assault test kit for further information on Sophie's final hours. In the meantime, the man has been charged with animal cruelty.
