This Company Wants to Freeze Octopuses to Death at the World's First Octopus Farm

Scientists overwhelmingly agree that octopuses are sentient creatures who can feel an amazing range of emotions. These fascinating animals experience excitement, pleasure, and joy - as well as pain and distress. They use tools, have cunning disguises, and remember human faces.

So why are companies seriously considering commercially farming octopuses to slaughter them for profit?

Sign now to demand Nueva Pescanova drop plans for this grotesque octopus farm!

The details from the Nueva Pescanova proposal are chilling. First, if the company gets its way, octopuses would be farmed in wildly unnatural conditions. In their natural habitat, octopuses are solitary creatures, and they spend most of their lives in the dark depths of the sea. Instead, Nueva Pescanova would force the octopuses to be in tanks with other octopuses, and kept under constant light.

And that's all just the prelude to the horrors that eventually come. Then, the poor creatures would suffer a long, cruel, and painful death from the "ice slurry" method. This method involves putting living, breathing, sentient octopuses in freezing water at -3 degrees Celsius (26 degrees Fahrenheit). This process is so nightmarish, multiple animal welfare and farmed marine organizations oppose it - even suggesting this method be banned.

We cannot allow Nueva Pescanova to force these remarkable animals to suffer and be farmed for profit. The company must drop all plans to proceed with this horrific farm! Sign the petition now if you agree!
